Wasted efforts? Do we put captive bred animals back into the wild?

What do we do when these animals are so critically endangered in their native lands. Does captive breeding and wild placement of these animals really help? In some studies it shows from the biologist and microorganism point of view that it is in fact very dangerous to do this. But what do we do when the species is on the brink of extinction? It has been researched, published, and debated for many years. The reality is the only way to really introduce captive bred animals into the wild, is to introduce them into a controlled piece of the wild origin they are found. Certain antibodies can be developed from captive bred specimens and develop or evolve a completely different immune system. Than that of the wild specimens born, hatched and raised by mother nature. below you will find a great article that specifies literature in great detail on the Madagascar reintroduction debates and methods for introducing captive bred animals back into their native origin.
